Smokes and Whiskey

Smokes and Whiskey

They met like shores,

Water to sand,

Spilling and giving more.

It's a cold, cold world,

Their feelings spread as if it washed ashore..

Freezing like oceans,

Debris from crashes,

Accidents,

Galore.

Scattered remains,

Lay in the cycle of the wash and lure,

The tit for tat,

Give it up and get it back,

The back & forth.

Body language,

Check the reports,

And all the timely retorts,

Of sorts..

Wanting a marriage of course,

But one that doesn't end in divorce..

They need coexistence like scales,

And..

Checks & Balances,

For Liberty & Freedom in courts..

They begin to sip on alcohol,

And dulge into drinks..

And now the thoughts begin,

Like water rushing from sinks..

The friction that results began the wonderous links..

And the waters flowing faster mustering up the heat..

A coldness still from the waters,

Their souls cut at the tension like axes from exes,

Blades to wood,

Chopping at the temperature in which is chippy..

Drowning in the essence of love,

The tides climb,

The levels rise,

As both lovers are feeling frisky..

He said kiss me if you miss me,

Hazy intentions,

So foggy,

Misty...

Passion burning quickly,

Like heat of spirits and tobacco,

Embers,

Just like Smokes & Whiskey..

With the hearts freshly dripping.

Swimming through to the end,

The current takes a dipping..

The waters set ablaze because the love was all the mission..

They now have heat with the motion,

And they've found what they've been missing...

He claimed his queen at last,

Took her hand to ask,

"For this journey are you with me?"

She said,

"Out of all the fish in the sea,

You really pick me?"

She had to ask but it was good intent still feeling tipsy.

He said yes, her eyes glowed like cigarettes,

Smokes and Whiskey..
