Winter Arrives

Winter Arrives

Monsoon's gone, spring forgotten;

Winter lends its snowy white hand on the land of my heart.

I sat under the tree which once was fully blossomed,

Now it's dead like me.

The rhythmic tone of nightingale's sweet song

Disappeared into night howls and barks of dogs.

Once darkness covered the night,

Now it covers the white snow capes.

Once the in-activeness was the part of the night,

Now it's a part of the day too.

The sun rays of hope disappeared somewhere,

All the flowers in the valley bid their farewell

The valley lost its smile somewhere in the bushes

Which was now covered with snow

Sadness dawns upon the valley's far stretched land.

The soft grasses were replaced by cold snow and

All you could see was darkness wrapped under white snowfall.

Days become short and night, very long.

Once open windows lies tightly shut now.

Once it was a cool breeze

Now a howling, spine-chilling wind.

All you can see the far stretched desert.

A desert of snowflakes and ice caps.

I, covered under sweaters,

Earth under snowcaps, birds in some other land all waiting for spring.
