Widow
Widow
True colors of society unfolded
When,
Burning her alive with senseless rituals,
Wasn't enough for them.
The fact that she lost her one and only,
The love of her life,
Wasn't enough for them.
She was left to nurture two saplings,
All alone,
Wasn't enough for them.
She was treated as an obligation,
Unholy in a holy place,
"Achoot", untouchable,
Wasn't a biased statement anymore.
Judgemental eyes and lustful souls,
Who treated her like an opportunity,
Were everywhere.
The decisions for her life were made,
But her consent wasn't important.
Because according to our society,
She lost her identity,
She lost her man.
She wasn't a common lady anymore
She was a WIDOW.
