Why Don't They Understand?

What more do I have to do, what I like,

How much should I climb, how much should I hike.

Why does it take so much for the parents to realize,

Doing what I want, and also make them smile, is the biggest prize.

Why do they always judge us in whatever path we choose,

In making them happy many times, it’s ourselves we lose.

Whether, it is about love or whether it is about career,

Why do they always stand in our way, being a barrier.

How long will it take them, to know us truly,

Killing our dreams, then hurts us brutally.

They don’t understand, its not always the parents who sacrifice,

We also have to give up a lot just, so that they feel nice.
