Tales Of Teenage
Tales Of Teenage
When the middle school boy turned thirteen
Everyone said, from now on you are no more a kid, rather a "teen"
He was said "this phase of life will be most complicated"
But for him, life was still a game of cricket,
Meant to be enjoyed, and not contemplated.
Slowly, his smooth face started having rough patches.
Voice seemed to get lower and lower pitches.
The confused soul, not understood
That these all were the first signs of adulthood.
His mood started swinging like a cricket ball
Sometimes on the high, sometimes down it would fall.
From an ever joyful boy, whose smile radiated happiness,
He got entrapped by the shackles of sadness.
Nobody understood this boy's apathy,
The society did shower this " unworthy" boy with feelings of sympathy.
But what he needed most was the touch of love with a pinch of empathy.
But soon, the darkest clouds of his life produced the brightest rainbow,
His innocent heart was struck by the Cupid's arrow.
His life, all of a sudden became a paradise of fantasy,
And in "her" soul, he found the hidden treasures of ecstasy.
Her long black hairs were like a cascade of water flowing.
In her brown enchanting eyes, he kept drowning and drowning.
Every night how terribly he asked God to make his dreams of fantasy
Turn into reality.
But soon this reality of life struck him hard,
In this violent force, his innocent heart got shattered
Like a pack of cards, here and there its broken pieces got scattered.
This blow was too mighty for the young boy to bear,
He got sunken in the oceans of gloom and fear.
From being an ever jovial boy high on hope,
This distressed soul found pleasure injected in the form of dope.
His life started running like a train, on an opposite track.
A faint ray of "Hope" was all that he possessed.
Hope that someday, time shall heal this crack.
Gradually the fire of passion in him got reignited.
Since then, years passed by
But still, his desire for living remained high.
Storms came and went
Brought circumstances to lament.
But what he sought for in his life was, "inner contentment".
His teenage period didn't make his life, all azure;
But it certainly made him more mature.
If ever, someday he comes across
That sobbing 14-year-old, younger self.
He will certainly give a gentle pat on his shoulders.
Saying, " Don't worry brother, this too shall pass".
