Family Time

Children are precious than a gold mine,

What they need the most is family time!

With the financial crisis and surge in prices,

Parents are struggling to pay invoices.

The distance was less, there was no fear,

As loved ones were always near.

A child was always surrounded by family,

His home was filled with joy and glee.

His dad ensured, he was safe and sound,

Even if he had a fall on the ground.

Whether it was for breakfast or lunch,

Mother always made his favorite to munch.

Parents had a lot of time on hand,

And not much stress on their mind.

Today the child wakes up to a maid,

Who serves him food that's readymade.

No sibling to fight and play,

No loved one to hear what he has to say.

Parents are dead tired when they're back,

They doze off the minute they hit the sack.

The bare minimum time they're awake,

They're busy with WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook page.

The child finds it tough to sleep at night,

With nobody to hug and hold him tight.

The stories of the school remain unheard,

Creating a hollow space in his world.

O dear parents please sit and talk,

Once in a while take your child for a walk.

Show your kids you do love and care,

Ask them if they have anything to share.

Money can buy all them all the presents,

But nothing will mean more than your presence.

Try and give time to your kid,

It's not long before they get big.

Remember you wished and craved for a child,

Not just as an additional member by a side.

Be thankful your prayers got answered,

There are many, who weren't heard.

Being together with your kid means a lot,

It leaves a lasting impression, forget it not!
