Who Am I?
Who Am I?
Every realm of hell she has traveled
Every battle of anguish she has fought
Every conundrum of life she has desired to unravel
Every sign of solace she has sought
Amidst the crowd lies her soul
Seared with scars
As black as coal
Her broken memories blur into oblivion
Fighting for a heart that was once one in a billion
Through the bars of life, she watches the endless road unfold
The storm inside only growing fiercer
As the night slips away, so does she
Like the dying embers of light that illuminate the sky
Masked by a pretense that everything is as it seems
She fights the palpable void within
She chooses to confront the wrath of the unknown
Yet fears the ephemeral thoughts of there being a reason for her sins
In the blink of an eye, she falls apart
With the sight of herself, she comes crashing down
She cannot beg for forgiveness
She cannot rectify her actions
Rendered powerless, she simply awaits the arrival of hope
And asks herself: ‘Who am I?’
