Where Shadows Rest

Where Shadows Rest

We carry quiet corners within our hearts,

Where hidden fears and memories remain.
Not every shadow asks to disappear;
Some simply wait for kindness instead of blame.

Behind the smiles and carefully chosen words,
Live fragile pieces we seldom let others see.
Yet every scar has shaped the path we've walked,
Becoming part of who we're meant to be.

The shadows are not enemies to fight,
Nor stories that deserve to be erased.
They hold the lessons gathered through the years,
Teaching compassion, courage, and quiet grace.

When we stop running from our hidden selves,
The darkness slowly softens into light.
Acceptance grows where judgment once had lived,
Turning silent battles into inner peace.

And so I welcome every part of me—
The hopeful dawn, the midnight, and the rain.
For where the shadows finally come to rest,
The heart discovers it is whole again.
