Where Does It Lead Us?

Soft hands, trusting hands,

Held on.

They had faith.

They believed

It was the right decision.

That's what everyone had told them.

Education, literacy, success,

It would help.

It would give his child a better future.

It would make his child independent.

It would help his child achieve,

Everything that he couldn't achieve.

He had held the tiny bundle in his arms,

Promised him the world,

Worked hard to provide it to him.

He had struggled,

Day and night,

To give his child the best,

Everything that he couldn't get.

Only to realize,

That one fateful day,

He would be left alone.

To fend for himself,

For the cruel world had taken his beloved son away.

And left a monster in its wake.
