When I'm gone, 

Would you stare into the pyre a little longer? 

Would you say a small prayer? 

And cry till your eyes feel bitter? 

When I'm not here anymore, 

Would you miss me when you sit by the shore? 

Like you missed chai on monsoon evenings? 

And would you talk about me a little more? 

When I'm gone, 

Would you miss my warm embrace? 

And drown in my memories

Like a stone while the rivers race? 

When I'm far far away, 

Will it remind you of the times you wished I'd stayed? 

Or if the last hug lasted a little longer? 

Or when you missed me while I kept standing at the corner?
