What it takes to be a teacher
What it takes to be a teacher

In this irrational world with an irrational feature,
I had this most rational thought.
When it takes training to be soldier
And toiling to be a preacher.
What does it take to be a teacher?
Some say it's an intelligent mind,
Or a strong strict stature.
But I can't think that could be enough
You need to have the mind of a god and the mouth of a preacher
Cause, that's what it takes to be a teacher.
To be a parent to thousands
And still be impartial to all.
To be the sole guide of a thousand souls.
You need to sacrifice your present to lighten up someone else's future.
Cause, that's what it takes to be a teacher.
To be strong and calm,
And pay heed to all.
To strike the light of knowledge in a thousand world.
You need to be a mother at heart an
d attain a fatherly posture.
Cause, that's what it takes to be a teacher.
Through the unfathomable shall we venture
Behind thy Virgil's staff
Retracing the wax's trail to Kindle hopes and reason
Amidst fates Mighty grasp.
Before the philosophers beard, that kissed the floor
Or a Sceptre, that slayed the world
Before the quest of conquering destiny even began
The quest for greatness began with a teacher
It takes more words than I can ever write,
And more praises than I can utter.
It takes more gold than the gold itself
And grandeur, as grand as nature.
It takes much more than just a human
It takes a god incarnate
Only when you walk in his shoes will you come to know
It takes a lot to be a teacher.
