Uninvited Friend
Uninvited Friend
When you can't move
Without the sting of pain
Landing in your gut
By an uninvited friend,
Spreading up your back
And gunning down your head
All while hunching over
Like the guy in Notre Dame,
Making it hard to sleep
To eat, or even smile,
And they stay for a week
Maybe even two,
Then disappears
For a month at a time.
