Truth Paradise

Truth Paradise

My head is stuck in a deep black fog,

Following me everywhere I stride,

I tried once and twice to run off,

But exhaustion got the better of my life.

Through the happiest lanes, and sorrowful streams,

It grew effortlessly like my bones and limbs,

Became a part of me I couldn't let go of,

Like my breath and heart that I've learned to ignore.

When it bloomed, I remember not,

Like peaceful darkness, it swallowed my mind,

Falling into the depths, the fight was lost,

When a place of emptiness seemed more kind.

I cannot stop smiling now,

I am afraid that if a tear is allowed to fall,

I will lose the happiness I held onto for so long.

I cannot stop laughing at the face of despair,

Because I am afraid,

That if I allow myself the luxury of crying,

The stream of sorrow may flood my life.

I am afraid to reach out to you,

Because when I look around,

I see it everywhere,

The dark fog around everyone's head,

Like a new limb that humans have begun to grow,

A false smile decorating each face,

A silent acceptance of fate.

What scares me the most,

Is not the darkness that the fog brings,

But the comfort that man has found in it.

The way man has forgotten what it's like,

To breath freely, and see the sunshine,

Man has become so used to sorrow and suffering,

That it has become a part of him,

He has become so attached to pain,

That he finds ways to fall back into shame,

He chooses a life of staying blind,

From the truth beyond the covered eyes.

But If the Darkness exists, so does the Light,

And I won't let the fog leave me paralyzed,

Like a distant instrument ringing its melodies,

Something in my soul forces me to seek,

A truth beyond the foggy lies,

And even if I fail a thousand times,

I'll keep on searching for my 'Truth Paradise'.
