Traversing Back In Time

I traversed back in time

To meet someone in bygone days of an earlier time.

I saw young me 

perched on the shoulders of a handsome male

Striding with such grace.

In his youth, I saw my Paa!

I look at him now

In the creases of his age

I try to decipher the wisdom of an era. 

A little farther, I saw a youthful bride,

Squinting a little, I try to recognize.

Was it me in another era?

She looked like me but it was my Maa!

I looked at her and cherished a coiffured coy bride,

As I turned to have a look at her present self

I found a veteran seasoned and deft.

I close my orbs and try to capture the sight

Somewhere in the unlit corners of my mind.
