TIGHTROPE BALANCE

TIGHTROPE BALANCE

Look! Here comes the glorious Grand Circus-

To thrill us, make us laugh and entertain us!

The lions, the bears and of course the clown,

The trapeze artistes who won't let you down!

The jugglers with their many colourful balls,

And cold ice-cream and popcorn in the stalls;

The tightrope walker...up ever so high.....

It seemed so scary, the crowds did sigh!

And then...he lost his balance and he fell -

The net gave way ..and then there was hell!

They tried long and hard to make him revive -

But alas! he was gone, tho' the doc did strive.

The entire public and the circus as a whole

Bowed and dispersed to pray for his soul -

For a human life is a sacred human life...

Look at his confused kids, his weeping wife.

Maybe there is a lesson to be learnt here,

Amid the sorrow, all the flurry and fear...

Keep your balance, stay ever alert and ready -

And on Life's tightrope you'll always be steady.
