Though I Knew

Though I knew...

I am marrying a soldier and will get to 

Spend limited but quality time with you 

But unlike other young newlyweds, I came

With dreams, desires, and woven thoughts!!

Though I knew.....

Time flew, we could not get to spend much

Time together, and sit and talk together

The time we spent was on preparations

Of wedding, and marriage and rituals,

Relatives just returned back to their homes

And a short honeymoon trip we made !!

 

Though I knew.....

As soon as your holidays are over you will

Return on duty, but the colour of " Mehandi " 

Not gone, my wishes are yet to get fulfilled

And my " chuda " and ornaments all witness

My being a new and fresh bride with all the

Eagerness and hopes and so many wishes

 Though I knew... 

I have to be prepared to live without you

For many days and months, but when I see

Newly-wed couples, I remember you a lot

When full moonlight comes from a window in 

Night and, when I listen to a beautiful song,

Then I miss you so much that I can't explain!!

Though I knew...

I have all here to take care of me, they love

Me and considerate about how I feel but

Knowing and actually spending time with

No presence of your around for days and

Months together are unbearable at times !!

Though I knew...

Being a Soldier your first priority is your 

Duty and the Nation but how do I convince

My mind and my heart that is just always

Waiting to hear from you, waiting for your being

With me together to enjoy the first rain !!

Though I knew... 

I have to be strong and mature and not to

Get carried away emotionally but believe

I am trying to be strong and tough just

Like you but sometimes I can't...I can't

But assure you that I will manage this !!

BECAUSE I AM PROUD TO BE A SOLDIER'S

WIFE AND WILL MAKE YOU PROUD TOO!
