The Widow's Lament
The Widow's Lament

The widow sits, with a heavy heart
Her soul was consumed, by grief and dark
Her husband was gone, her world undone
A battle she fights, but cannot be won
The memories haunt, her everyday
The pain lingers, and will not go away
The love they shared, a flame so bright
Now extinguished, in the depths of night
The world moves on, but she's standing still
A heart so broken, it feels unreal
The emptiness, a void so vast
A pain so real, it will always last
The widow longs, for one more day
To hear his voice, to see his face
To hold his hand, to feel his touch
To tell him how much, she loves him so much
But life goes on, and so must she
In the memories, she'll always be
The love they shared, was forever true
A bond unbroken, forever new
And though she sits, with a heavy heart
She knows one day, they'll never be apart
For love endures, even in death
And in her heart, he'll always have breath.
