The Wail Of The Heart
The Wail Of The Heart
The weather today is just as dull as my wailing heart
As though the sun is grieving her demise too
Here lies her body, so cold, so tiny,
Without any emotions,
Without her smile, without her cries,
The world treated her in such a bad way,
Her destiny far more scrutinized,
Her laugh far more priced.
Love and grief are two sides of the same coin
It has been less than a week
Since I had dug a grave
With my own bare hands.
When you love someone,
You fear losing them
Every single day.
You fear this day to your bones,
The insufferable pain, which you thought you could surpass
Now haunts every passing second.
It is this day
That you despise nature's laws
To its core.
It is this day
That you want to turn the entire table
Breakthrough all the shackles
And run wild, freely,
Without any bondage,
Without any weights,
Without any fear.
Alas! Who can outdo the almighty himself?
Today, the wind is not singing her name
Nor are the birds chirping in harmony;
Maybe it is their way to defy the laws
To condemn, to console, to grieve,
The only way they knew
To bid her a farewell
To say goodbye, who only knew the heart's language
To someone, who showed me the way of living
To someone, whose silence was more comforting than the words
To someone, whose smile uplifted my mood on the worst of my days
My dear angel,
I let you go
Today.
