The Unfinished Poetry

Yesterday, just for once,

I thought everything was real.

The unsung melodies made their way

Out of my lips 

Leaving me perplexed.

The eyes laughing at their own shenanigans, 

Searching for love in everyone's eyes, but you. 

The fingers twisting and fidgeting, 

Humming onto their own music-

But nothing of it relates to the ecstasy

I felt. 

It's easier said, than done:

I've heard this a couple of times, 

Never thought it'd apply for me. 

I gave you a thousand reasons to love me, 

But you didn't appreciate even one of them. 

Yet, here I am, 

Writing letters that will never reach you,

Reciting poems, which you will never hear,

Searching love, which you will never see-

You became the poetry, 

I could never finish.
