THE VOICELESS
THE VOICELESS
The year 2020, the year to remember,
As each day went horrific and the sorrow followed till December.
I too was unaware that a catastrophic is there to arise,
But soon as we stepped in the month of March there waited the ugly surprise
Hearing about the lockdown, My heart sank low;
When it will end? Was all I wanted to know.
The fear of Corona, The fear of losing,
Was all everyone was thinking and the horror was increasing.
I too used to sit in the corner of my room,
Waiting for my normal days to resume.
My sadness was all a bit different,
There was two souls waiting for me and therefore, for stepping out I was insistent;
On my way to my music class there waited two stray dogs,
They were my little friends and from my home it was a around a 20 minute walk.
Everytime, I tried to visit them I used to fail,
Sometime it was strict policing and sometimes other restrictions prevailed.
After a month when I got to meet them,
There the conditions where not the same.
I lost one of my friend who starved to death,
The other looked into my eyes with a long built faith.
I hugged him and tears rolled down my cheeks,
I said to myself that this is not the time to get weak;
I made a promise to myself that day,
That where there is a will there always a way.
In remembrance of my little voiceless friend,
I thought that this issue of hunger needs to end.
It inspired me with a new aim,
To look out for people who suffer alike me with a similar pain;
I arranged and created a small group of six to proceed,
To help animals wherever within our reach there is a need.
I named my small group - 'The Voiceless',
With a vision that one day, my aim will be a success.
We all don't save much but we try out our best,
So, here ends my true story for the beautiful contest.
