The Setup

This world is a setup,

All you’ve seen is what you were shown,

A play ahead of the curtain that just goes on and on.

So don’t just get mesmerized by the beauty you see,

Cuz its an illusion you can never break free,

Real beauty is behind the curtains,

That hides the pain and grief,

And if you go there

You will see the happy actor weep,

Move and look forward,

How everyone’s battling a cause,

For this is the real world 

That comes alive after the curtain falls.

It is only here, 

That you can see the pain in their eyes,

But enormous than pain is their will to fight,

For no matter how hard they fall

They will get up again,

Wearing the mask of happiness and pride

They will fight even though there is pain.

And, you never realized,

That with them you entered the stage too,

With a mask on your face,

That keeps you from being you,

Fighting your inner demons,

And trying to be number one.

But make sure not to stay on the stage for too long,

Trying to stay in the spotlight,

Thinking that is where you belong,

For there is happiness away from the stage too

Cuz that is where YOU can be the real YOU.
