Pious and peaceful above lies the sky

Keeping the secrets of dusk and dawn

A new story with every sunrise!

Pondering on a chapter so old in her life

Sits a girl pretty and quiet.

She lives in a place which never grants her solace

She is taught to be educated and independent

But when it comes to practice she is doomed to remain empty handed

Helpless as to where to express her thoughts

Her creativity is unable to come out in this drought.

This drought of superstition

Where she has to ask for permission

Where she is not allowed to follow her ambition

Where her soul is only left to imprison

The fear of society looms large

What would they say? What would they ask?

What if I am not able to bear the task?

My clothes are a measure of character for them,

Their minds are confiscated in a flem!

Even if they know I can, will they let me?

The sky knows my story

And I wish to bask in the glory

Where my potential is taken to be my identity,

And there is no one to judge me on my "purity"!
