The Rider of Blue Horse

Maharana Pratap, the ruler of Mewar

Had a horse named Chetak

Who was tall and blue in colour and only

Allowed Maharana Pratap to sit on him.

He was very faithful and loyal

And took part in many wars.

Even in his last war he was seriously injured with one hind leg dangling .

But still then he did not care about his life

And in order to take Maharana to safety

Jumped through a twenty-five feet deep trough and died there on the spot.

He ensured that Maharana was safe 

Before breathing his last breath!

The bravery and loyalty of this great horse is sung in the form of ballads.

Maharana Pratap, called as the 

Rider of blue horse 

Had cried like a child after the sad demise of his beloved horse.

As long as the name of

Maharana Pratap is taken on Earth,

People would remember Chetak's name

As the Blue Horse of Maharana.
