Death, O! Death
Death, O! Death
Death, O! Death,
I need some time to borrow.
There are so many things to do
And my heart is filled with sorrow.
Send me a sign in time,
Before I could hit the sack.
Fever, Covid, Cancer
Or; even a mild heart attack.
I regret my shortcomings,
I boast about things i've done.
The clock seems to have wings
And the moon moves faster than the sun.
Everyone is always busy,
I feel like the odd one out.
They neither ask nor liste
n,
No matter, how much I say or shout
My grandchildren are my only company,
For, my ways are now like theirs.
I could neither digest too spicy,
Nor run up a flight of stairs.
I'm a burden to my family.
They love me, so don't complain.
I think it's time you visited
And relieved me of this pain.
I'm all ready for you,
Hair set and a close, clean shave.
Come stealthily by the twelfth hour
And take me to my Grave.
