The Old Oak Tree
The Old Oak Tree
I remember the days
When we used his arms
To swing in the air
High in the azure sky
Luminous green leaves
We’re singing a Lollyboy
For me and my cousins
At every noon
Spent every day
Of my childhood
Under his dark shadow
In the hot summers
Enjoyed every drop of rain
As a sweet shower
Through his tiny branches
In beautiful rainy season
Heard all tweets and chirpings
In the morning and evening
From many lovely birds
We ran around him
We hid behind him
We danced under him
We jumped from him
We had witnessed
The real sky and stars
Covered his face
With thousand fireflies
And late night tales
Made us feel scared
But never stopped us
To loving him unconditionally
Time flies
We got separated
They found him unworthy
And they cut him off
The only place
Which connected us together
Is now vanished
But That old oak tree
Is living with us
In our hearts
With so many memories.
