The New One in the City
The New One in the City
I am the New one,
In the old city,
I am the outsider,
In a place with all known.
Will the City accept me?
Or Will it reject?
Will it love me?
Or will it try to make me hate it?
These "were" the fears,
And the dreads
But I too did not
Have a tear to shed.
For I left a place not for me,
For I left a place not accepting me,
A life not meant to be mine,
A stream will not flow for me
For a life not meant for me,
Is not what I want to have,
This new life appeals to me,
And with open arms accepts me.
So,
Here I am in life,
A brand new life,
With people, I might adjust,
With hopes I might make a life of it
And certainties of being accepted in it.
So,
Six cheers to a new life,
And nine to the hopes,
And twelve to the certainties.
