The Monsoon Rain
The Monsoon Rain
As summer heat gives way to darkened skies
And distant rumbles herald its approach,
The monsoon rain begins its grand reprise,
A welcome sound, a respite we encroach.
The winds pick up and gusts become a gale,
The drops that once were few now fill the air,
The smell of rain, it's like a magic veil,
And all the world is cleansed without a care.
The parched earth drinks and turns from brown to green,
As every blade of grass exults in song,
And every flower seems to come alive,
As if the rain had given it new life.
Oh, monsoon rain, how sweet thy melody,
A symphony that sings in harmony.
