The Mission Of Life

Every child is given a task before birth,

To fill the lives of two special people, with happiness and mirth.

And to complete this mission, they are sent to Earth,

To save their parents from every pain and hurt.

Entering the world, the two kind faces glow with joy,

As they hold him with utmost delicateness and care

And as they look with their love-filled eyes at their little boy,

They tried their best to not drop him, they did not dare.

This little bundle of joy did more than he was told to,

He loved them endlessly, did everything he could do.

Cried on the first day of school, did not want to enter the real world,

Then, the reality of the world unfurled.

As the days passed, he grew older, so did his parents.

Slowly, he could see the tiniest of the cracks and dents.

The lines of worry, their face wrinkled,

They no longer had energy, their eyes no longer twinkled.

He could hear them whispering about how they could save up for his future,

And make him stronger to always be a winner.

At this point, money became a major problem,

Their laughs reduced, with happiness, they would no longer hum.

They had a talk with him to give him the knowledge,

That everybody enters the world alone,

With the courage of a warrior.

But sadly, has to leave the world too, alone.

That's when he realised, that his parents,

Whom he had taken for granted all the while

Would leave and would not be there,

And in their conversation, their dialogues would become mimes.

And as he saw his parents fade in front of his eyes,

He wanted to hold on to them, couldn't day his goodbyes.

When he saw them lay there,

He cried and cried, for not being able to return them their love and care.

As this mission caused him hurt and pain,

He wished he was never born.

But just then, he could hear his parents saying,

"We knew it was you, even when you were unborn."

"Don't blame yourself, this is life,

Now it is your turn to have kids and a loving wife,

Who would make you happy just like your task

And will help you remove your pain, like a mask."

"We may not be there physically,

But remember, we are always watching you.

We will always be there in your heart,

Loving and guiding you."

Just as he heard this, tears rolled down his cheeks,

As he fell on his knees to the ground.

But magically, he now stood up,

His parents did it, lifted him off the ground.

Now, looking up, he said,

"Thank you for being there for me,

For being my family, teaching me what to do,

Father and mother, I will always love you.

You will always hold a special place in my heart,

Even if you are there, remember! We will never be apart."
