The Girl In The Mirror
The Girl In The Mirror
The girl in the mirror is not me,
She is someone I'd be if I were not me.
We are so alike and so different at the same time,
She has all those qualities
That I wish was mine.
Her confidence defines her
And I am just a nobody.
We are two souls in one body,
She is the side of me I wish I were.
She is smarter than me,
She is even more trendy.
She is pretty, she is popular,
But I still prefer the same old me.
I prefer being the same old girl,
The imperfect one, the real pearl.
What is the point of being the perfect one,
When the imperfect one glows like the sun?
There is no use of being neat and tidy,
When real happiness
lies in the pile of clothes lying in front of me.
Only robots are born and meant
To be perfect, not humans
The spots on your face are real beauty.
The girl in the mirror stares back at me
I do not see a reflection of me.
She lives on a different planet, a different globe,
I will make my own footsteps, hers will not be followed.
