The Melancholic Truth

At a balloon shop,

One 8-year-old collects happiness,

While another 8 years old collects livelihood;

 

The innocent Dalits are treated as dirty beings,

While criminals become politicians;

 

Goddesses are worshipped with devotion,

But the daughters of the country get molested and raped;

 

Untouchability is illegal,

But we still have separate utensils for the drivers and maids;

 

When will humanity rise again? 

When will justice prevail?
