THE LOVE I SEEK

I search for love in midnight dreams 

In whispered winds and quiet streams

 A touch, a voice , a heart to know

 A place where lonely souls can go

I wander streets of fleeing eyes

 Where laughter fades and silence lies 

Yet in the dark a star still gleams

 A hope that love is more than dreams

Perhaps its found in simple things

 A song the warmth that morning brings

 Or in the kindness, soft and true 

Of someone saying "good morning" to you

So though my heart aches tonight

 I will trust love finds its way in light

 For even when it feels too far

I know it lives in who we are
