 images   fade   fail   strokes   paintings   untouched 

With the images beginning to fade

he hurries up

and enters the hall,

wanting to do another

 

Brushes strewn around, old and unusable

paint in the boxes needing change

and finding that the initial strokes

are starting to fail

 

Ponders for a while

not wanting to repeat the precluded strokes

the unfinished paintings

a stark reminder of the past

 

Decides to halt this one and leave

a glance back at the canvas

the canvas once untouched and clean

never the same again
