The Greatest Escape
The Greatest Escape
According to the Purandar pact
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
Had reached Agra fort along
With nine-year-old son Sambhaji
And five hundred strong guards,
Was ignored in the court
By Aurangjeb, insulted Maharaj
Misbehaved, house arrested for three months
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had
Successfully used many tricks,
To overcome, mislead the enemies,
As per preplan, application to release
The guards were made to the emperor
The modest request was immediately solicited
Again Maharaj pretended that
He was sick, wanted to send
Sweet, fruit boxes to the mosques
Temples to seek the divine blessings
After the permission, the boxes duly
Checked were allowed to send out
Taking advantage of the lethargic
The attitude of the guards, Shivaji Maharaj,
Samabhaji, later Hiroji Madari were escaped
All others were already left unhurt
There are many theories, views
Without proof regarding the escape
And the reaching of Chattrapati Shivaji
Maharaj to Rajgad, but there won’t
Be any controversy about Maharaj
Making the greatest escape amazing the world
