The Gleam of Rajo
The Gleam of Rajo
Every Oria girl waits for the day
When they celebrate Rajo with their friends and family
And too I..
Why wouldn't I will be interested in it
Not me alone, almost every girl wants to celebrate it in her best way
To make it more memorable forever.
Before the day of Rajo
There is the festive occasion called Rajo Sajobaja
On this day the females of the household complete the arrangements initially
As it's suggested not to do any household works during the festive occasion
The maidens arent allowed to walk barefoot on the five days of Rajo.
On the first day, it's known as Pahili Rajo
When I along with my friends wore new dresses
And went away to swing the day long
Also We ate the Special Poda pitha
Made specially for the purpose
Really all the days of Rajo are very enjoyable.
We miss it when it's gone
On the very last day known as Basumati Snana
Which signifies the bath of mother Goddess for purification
As it's believed that She is menstruated on Rajo
That implies even the mother Goddess has to follow every rule of Nature
Like the other girls do.
So She symbolises we females
Who are the hub of patience, dedication, perseverance etc
We worshipped the Goddess Earth on the last day
To seek her blessings to move on amidst thick n thins
Isn't it a fascinating-the beautiful message
Behind this Festive Occasion Rajo
That gleams us in its beauteous glue.
