The Friend

I may be penniless at the end of the day,

But I am grateful for the wealth of our friendship!

I may be less privileged to attain worldly goals,

But I have the privilege to sustain a unique bond with you!

I may be half-witted, half-groomed...

But I have a friend to quest my knowledge!

I may be a lazy lad with a pile of duties,

But my efforts to meet you are never futile!

I may be a deaf ear around petty folks,

But I am a patient listener to your witty talks!

I may be weird unknown to many,

But my traits known to you rests in agony!

I may be a short-tempered guy at times of despair,

But the delicate child in me pampers with your care!

I may be an orphan with known people none,

But my loneliness is at auction on the greet at dusk and dawn!

I may be "Tagged" as a Failure with no godfather to favour,

But I am "Ranked 1" on friendship that connects with my forefathers!!
