The Balance Sheet Of Love
The Balance Sheet Of Love
Intro:
The poem is about two people in a relationship and their minds voices after a breakup/divorce.
For simplicity men and women have been mentioned as two genders though love remains the same across any gender.
(Mind of Male lover)
It's you, It's you
Whom I indeed Love.
It's you, it's you
For whom my verse is written,
in a secret journal.
It's you, It's you.
Where my passion and
dreams percolate from dawn to dusk.
It's you, it's you
Whom I adore to the breadth of the ocean
and hate the extent of downpours.
I know, I know
When and where you steer.
I know, I know
Where You reside, and
what you do at this moment.
I know, I know
Who is your well-wisher and
who wears a gloss around you.
Yet, I won't confront you,
though you are under my guard.
I know, I know
The platform you are actively available on.
I know, I know
how to crack your password and your doors
from the blocks, you assembled.
Yet, I won't approach you, to exhibit
my desperation.
I know, I know
How to impress you,
with novelty quotes from my
heart in the spam of your phony followers.
I know, I know
How gorgeous you are
without makeup.
I know, I know
Your strength, weakness
which even you won't know.
Yet I won't admit it to entrench you.
Yet, I won't partake in the league of buffs.
I know, I know
The heartfelt expressive
phrase diminishes the detachment
between us.
Yet, I don't confess.
As I am not ready to renounce my self-esteem to please you.
(Mind of Female lover)
It's you, It's you.
Whom I indeed love.
It's you, it's you
For whom my poems are held
secretly in my journal.
It's you, It's you
Where my affections and
dreams ooze from dawn to dusk.
It's you, it's you
Whom I love to the breadth of the ocean
and hate the size of the rain.
It's you, it's you
I have been observing the mob of fellas.
It's you, it's you
Whose buzz I await,
during my frenzied agenda.
It's you, it's you
I probe into others,
desiring to find a
doppelganger.
It's Nothing, it's Nothing.
My life is nothing more than a void,
filled with loneliness,
but buried with virtual devotees.
Yet, I won't desire to claim the truth
with you, as I am evading it.
It's Nothing, it's Nothing.
Your anger is irrational,
it meant nothing to me.
It's Nothing, it's Nothing.
As I know the words said,
didn't reveal
your personality.
Yet, I am not set to forget
and absolve you, as
I am not a holy priest.
It's Nothing, it's Nothing
As you are the only simple
man in the masses
whom I have met.
Yet, I am not ready to assert,
as you don't deserve my cheering.
It's Nothing, it's Nothing.
Significant to me in my vivacity.
As I intend of growing only with you.
Yet, I won't prefer to reveal my delusion as I don't need your approval to ponder about you.
It's Nothing, it's Nothing.
if I shatter the stillness
between us, with a phrase.
Yet, I won't confess, not to renounce my self-esteem to gain your affection.
It just takes a word, to save a relationship but the clash of egos wrecks a beautiful relationship, where a second opportunity is barely earned.
As we talk about ego be aware of an abusive relationship and the mental health of a partner, and what they are going through, as everyone needs help, some seek help and accept but some don't, the choice of staying or leaving it's up to us, as self-safety is important, but it shouldn't be an escape without putting an effort to see through their eyes.
If a relationship took ages to survive, and work hard to save, it's hard to find a compassionate companion, as a relationship cannot be run as an enterprise with balance sheets of money but with emotions.
To exist in the race of bulls and bears compassion and care are needed.
It's a poem written with inspiration got from the Tamil movie Taramani.
This poem is dedicated to poet N.A Muthukumar.
