The Eve Before War
The Eve Before War
There was a sense of contentment
And a chivalry night
Where there were army men with their wives
In a ball organized full of lights.
Those red bangles of a newly wed girl
Where one sees the wait in her eyes
The longing to see her husband
And the urge of her for him to sit beside.
But then suddenly something happens
The joyful voices change to sorrowful fears
The sounds of guns and grenades
Is all what they could hear.
The hands which were holding the glasses of champagne
Were changed with the hands holding guns
And the only philosophy of 'no pain, no gain'.
Now the night would fall
And the morning will rise
Where the soldiers would again go for a battle
And there will be a waiting in their beloved ones' eyes.
It's been nine days
Since the war started
And it feels like years
When the beloved ones parted.
The war has now come to a halt
Instead of 'red' bangles , there is 'red' blood all around
The voices of glory have been replaced with the voices of 'mourning'
The glasses of champagne were replaced with the broken 'glass' pieces lying all around in the battle field.
In so many families, where the night fell
And now there will be no sign of the rising sun
The marriage which was just 'nine' months old
The baby who was just 'nine' days old
Who was longing to see his father
Maybe those dreams would never come true
That reality that won't ever happen
With the war, there were so many lives which also came to a halt.
