The course of a river
The course of a river
Tranquil waters,
slashing through stones
The lifeline, the elixir
A perpetual, rolling stream
Jaunty, moody, cheerful
Let it flow
its own course
and it'll genially feed
Give you plenty
to prosper and thrive
The irregular stimulated flusher
sharp, bright, terrifying
Repress it
and it'll cascade out
in ways unknown
Wiping out civilizations
with floods and droughts
It knows its purpose
and very well at that
Oh, the curvy cleverness
with a shimmer in its moves
Streaming in fun,
Uniting, connecting, blending
Surrendering at last
only to the majestic sea.
