That Grainy Photo

That Grainy Photo

The years have passed

They have moved on and so have I

Water has flowed under the bridge

There are new faces and new thoughts

But that photo from the past

Brings back the days like they were never gone

Those happy carefree days when fun and laughter reigned supreme

When it seemed the happiness would be there forever

I thank the heavens

We couldn’t tell that in just some time

Just a few years a few mont

hs and a few days

There would be faces to replace ours and company we no longer were

The friends we call ours would no longer be there

The people who were mine would no longer care

I thank some god I couldn’t foretell

That one day I would tear up the picture in tears

I thank some god I couldn’t foresee

That the grainy photo full of smiles and mischief

Which brought me so much joy yesterday

Would bring me so much agony today
