Teacher
Teacher
Teachers are the chosen ones who impart to us, much-needed knowledge
Be it from play school or kindergarten, when we are naive and of a tender age
Teach us to hold a pencil or, a pen to write, or to ably read and turn a page
From the formative years at school, or through those years of college
Our acumen for intelligence they spot, nurture and thoroughly gauge
To do things in life, being more relaxed, than in a fit of utmost rage
Miss those blissful academic years, those blessed fun-filled school days
When we excelled in sports and elocutions, even skits or tedious school plays
Be second to none when judged by everyone, never give up, or say a no or nay
Lose out to no one, rise and shine after a fall, in your own humble way
Where art thou, Dear Teacher, miss you, and each one of your simple loving ways
Sadly, haven't we drifted seven oceans apart, to a distant newer place
See myself as a senior now, as I waddle to find that extra needed space
Think of you in troubled times, as I try to cope with life's faster pace
But a thought for you, I do spare, when it's time to thank and say the holy grace.
