Storm

as the storm cut paths 

deep into your soul

let the rain not fall on your cheeks,

let your heart not fade away 

for i will put your pieces back together 

with sparkles of fireflies to lit you up in the dark weather 

as tornadoes root up the brown rusted roof off your head

let the shadowy wind not feast on your flesh 

for i will take flight with you in a brighter world 

a better tomorrow behind this wall

the stormy night won't last forever,

i see flames in your eyes and the ashes in your heart

and the treasures that are beautifully buried in your inner part

a shining day is dawning

let our footprints be the closest thing in the ground 

when the rain is asleep beneath her skin,

let the heated fragrance from my arms be your home
