the scars of a broken heart

in a little wave, i send a hello 

to those hearts in the push below 

the ones sinking in tears yet aglow 

allow the cocks crow

and let the sun rides on the shoulder of new day to flow

there are souls, old like gold 

folded and cajoled in cold holes 

souls who thought love was a sparkling gold

gave every drop in their bloodstreams yet nothing hold

how do you tell when the air in our lungs is angry 

or when the atmosphere is hungry 

or when the memories in our heads become achy

or when a broken single mother snores in agony 

some have no hearts 

some are just beautiful pieces of art

with flesh and bones far apart 

some have minds and brains yet lost their hearts 

to relationships that crowned them as tarts.
