O cuckoo! Who Are you singing for?
Might be for humans
But are we listening to you?
Can we admire your melody?
A melody you are pouring your heart into;
No, we are running an unending race,
A race leading nowhere but heading to marred compassion and sans conscience
Admiring you needs benevolent heart and warmth of life
Alas! We all are devoid of these
You might be singing for your fellow birdies;
They might be sitting beside you and enjoying the euphony
But I see them fetching food, making nests, rearing young ones
O cuckoo! then Who are you singing for?
Oh! I think you are singing for yourself,
The reason your chirp being so mellifluous and satiating,
Giving a message to the world that
Singing for self is always harmonious!
