Amazing World

Be ready said the teacher,

For you are going to be

Astonished by some amazing creatures.

With open ears and brains

Sat the students with

Neatly plaited braids.

Did you know -

That the chimps can recognise

Themselves in the mirror

Or that the beetle that can cover

Itself with its own strands of excreta?

Sat the children amazed,

Their preacher was surely

With knowledge glazed.

Did you know -

That the earthworm 

Loves you so much

For he has five generous hearts

Or that scientists can grow

Teeth from urine?

Cried in joy as the students

The teacher said that's all for the day

Wanting for more kept the students 

Waiting for another amazing day!!
