Silence

Silence

191

Silence seals my lips as tight as glue

As I scream against the restraint,

My tongue on the edge of words yet so far away.

My voice is gone,

Empty and always has been.

No one looks at me unexpectedly when I never say a word,

Never bothers a glance because I have never made it so far.

Thoughts crawl like an army of ants in my brain

But those words will never form into more,

End up as more than just a thought.

Traction is lost too easily,

The idea is lost too easily and I am left to suffer.

Suffer without anyone knowing the girl,

The girl behind the mask of good grades,

Behind her quiet lips,

A world is quelled by the outside,

The fear of never having the right thing to say

Or the people to say it too.
