Serein
Serein
Under the twilight sky they met,
Twin blooms in a field of corn;
Hay doting their green coronet
Waiting for the sun to dawn.
The first rays kissed the tranquil sky,
And ever so slightly they sway;
The cobs around so happy and spry,
Two pretty spirits on a warm spring day.
They have come out of their green trend,
Their whites adorn them now;
Those slender stalks dance with the wind,
Their golden heads caressed by the doves!
And oh my! I sat there,
As the dusk befell the lovely land;
Watching the pair return to the earth's care,
Elegant daisies hand in hand!
