From a Selcouth Soul
From a Selcouth Soul

I wish I had known this before;
Not bend with thrust,
Not stop with flow.
To love the hate and keep the trust
Between the shadow and soul to glow!
I wish I could stand up for my spirit;
Not suppress my longings,
Not fear my foes.
To care and bear my dearest yearnings
Be one through frost and fire who rose!
I wish I would fight my battles alone;
Not vouch for doves,
Not waiver with form.
To wait for not the luck nor coves
Like a princess, the front I would storm!
I wish I could trust again;
Not doubt any soul,
Not curse the core.
To pledge resurgence of life on whole
And overlook the pains of yore!
I wish I had known this before;
My life was mine,
Never foretold.
To have known that quintessence was divine
Each breath that came I should hold!
