The stars of the night and the dust of the day

Teach you lessons, which, learn if you may

You’re running a race, clinching a deal and playing a game,

In the name of power and ambition or something called ‘fame’.

But the last sunset casts a russet glow

From cradle to coffin, Nature hath set your stage with aplomb,

With a flashback of memories in a stream that flow,

Reward or penitence – the ramifications of your journey from the womb to the tomb.

Count your true wealth and prosperity –

The love of your family sealed with dignity,

The soul knows not what fragrance is within the wreath

But it merely beholds the dramatic farewell on earth beneath.

Good deeds and right actions carefully wrought,

The mortal years gone by for this judgement to assure,

The Sculptor is at work with a new model to sprout

To improvise the cycle with another identity to mature.
