If only you could fathom my care in those tears,

If only you could measure the warmth in my indifference,

If only you could judge me without any fears;

And construe my moves with no choice or preference

If only you could realize the reason for my existence,

If only you could glean the truth from my lies,

If only you could believe with subtle pertinence;

The passion in my heart and the love in these eyes

If only you could touch the kernel of my existence

If only you could consider the last plea for this remorse,

If only you could put me in the debt of your love and spare me such penitence,

A true lover will pledge his soul and all that he can endorse.

If only you could caress me again with the soft breath of your lips,

If only you could dive into the ocean of my thoughts and sentiments,

If only you could save my waning spirits before the scale dreadfully tips,

A different narrative would entertain us -- with no more resentments,

Just a mindfull of life-term commitments.

If only you could feel the pulse of my survival,

If only you could decipher my resilience amidst those upheavals,

If only you could absorb the true elixir of life;

Time would freeze; the world would end this strife.
