Runaway Closed
Runaway Closed
My eyelids are drooping
Heavy with sleep
Somehow it doesn't close the full lid
Like overstuffed suitcase
Locks refuse to click
No matter how hard I kick
Monsters in my brain
Are fighting endless wars
Overs things I did wrong
At that point not caught
Life was chockablock
Unpremeditated actions ignored
At the end of life's runaway
Tyres have worn out
Wish I could right those wrongs
The fuel tank has emptied
Spirit downed, filled with sorrow
Cornered, face up against the wall
Why doesn't life give a second chance
Retrace, undo, dig into the past,
Excavate black chunks of coal
In crevices still trapped
O how good would then seem the passage
From here to heaven, sans regrets luggage
